When was the last time you just let go and danced? I bet it felt great, didn’t it?
For as long as humans have been around, dance has been an integral part of our existence. We’ve used it to celebrate special occasions, during ceremonies, and to entertain. But most importantly, we used it as a form of healing.
We’ve become so accustomed to the idea that dance is reserved for the professionals and those that “can dance.” The thing is, dance is for every single one of us, even if “you can’t dance.” Nothing irks me more than hearing somebody say, “but I can’t dance.” That’s not true. You can dance. You just don’t believe it.
Dance is a form of self-expression, not just something professionals post to TikTok. If you just let your body move to the vibrations and balter, you’ll let go of all your past fears, sorrows, pain, and anxieties about the future.
To dance, don’t worry about what everybody might think of you. Don’t think about how you “should or shouldn’t” dance. Just let loose. Let the music take control of your body. Take up space. It’s all about you. Nothing else matters.
Dance empowers, transforms, and heals. So a little piece of advice from me… JUST DANCE, DAMNIT!
