When Electronic and Classical Collide

Schallbauer delivers an incredible performance by blurring the line between classical electronic music.

What do you get when you blur the line between classical and electronic music?

You wouldn’t expect these two opposing sounds to ever meet, but composer and sound designer Schallbauer takes you on a sonic journey through time by bringing together the elegance of classical and the intricacy of electronic music.

With Sophie Notte and Martin Smith on the cellos, Jonathan Dreyfus on the violin, and Phil Fast on the guitar, Schallbauer uses a combination of electronic instruments, reverb, delay, distortion, filters, and looping to fuse all these elements into one beautiful composition, where the distinction between these genres no longer exists.

I don’t know about you, but his brilliantly composed performance takes me beyond the realm of just music. He paints a kaleidoscopic image, giving me a glimpse far into the future. This is a truly timeless masterpiece that washes me away with every wave that comes crashing in.
